Re-Launching a Portfolio

Over the past 20 years, I have taken on a wide variety of jobs and positions. From starting out as a journalist in the video games and tech space for smaller enthusiast websites to starting up and managing marketing departments for growing businesses, I have had a career that has taken me many places and taught me countless lessons and skills. For the past three years, I have mostly worked in the world of photography, both as a freelancer and as a general manager for a local company. During that time, my old website suffered a virus infection (thanks to shoddy security on my host’s side) and I lost over 20 years of content. Poof. Gone.

I have missed writing. I want to step back into that world, even if it means taking a step down in status professionally. I have found that I am at my happiest when I’m engaged in creative endeavors (hence the photography), and never have I satisfied that need more than when I was deeply involved in copywriting efforts. As I have started searching around for a job, I’m finding that an online portfolio is a must, so this brings us to the grand re-boot of my personal website. While I have some scraps of old content, I’m hoping this re-launch puts me into a mindset and gives me the motivation to begin generating new works.

As I publish, old pieces will be tagged as a re-post and all new pieces will just be published without the tag. Topics will range from tech and gaming to marketing and social media. A little bit of pinball might slip in there, and I’m sure photography will show up as well. I’ll post pieces of fiction as well, for those looking for a moment of escape.
