A Simple Gesture Utah is about to launch

I have been involved in many product, service, website, and brand launches across my career. Some of these launches have been my own, while others have been on behalf of clients or the agencies that employed me. Some of these launches have gone on to be absolutely massive, some have fizzled out. Regardless of where things end up, the launch is always such an exciting and anticipated moment.

I’m on the doorstep of launching the project that has me more exciting than any other I’ve been a part of. A Simple Gesture Utah is ready to go…well, almost. The charity has its 501(c)(3) status, it has its first food pantry partner, the website is live, donations are beginning, bags are here, and the outreach is starting. I need a few more materials to help in the educational front, and I just need to get over that “it’s time to go” anxiety. I don’t doubt that the program will be a success, I just don’t want to see a hot start and then a fizzling out.

Either way, a key meeting is happening this weekend and I’m looking at the last week of March to be the official kickoff moment. In my mind’s eye I can see hundreds, even thousands, of green bags full of food donations flowing into food pantries each week. Last year we had an elementary student in my county die of starvation. This can never happen again, and we’ll do everything we can to fight hunger on all fronts. In our schools, in our homes, in our religious communities…we need to stand up and look out for one another.

I’m so grateful for those that have helped me get to this point. I’m also grateful that I’m in a position to make this happen.
